CPPS History

Club Penguin Private Server History

iCP Era
iCPv1
iCPv1 was the first ever made iCP Created by Myles and other staff. It had no commands, and was only for certain selected people. It came out in 2007 and it was online just for a few days.
iCPv2
iCPv2 was the first iCP that was for the public, and it grew fast. It was created by Co Co and iRath96. It was the first iCP with commands. It had tons of bugs though. They had a command where you could change your penguin’s height. This command was abused and made the server crash often. And they often had staff problems and it wasn’t well organized. It shut down in June 2010, because Co Co, iRath and other Staff had some complications. Their commands were not so comfortable for people. Example: GF.SHELL sendbuy.inventory_1 (this was how you added the blue color)
iCPv3
iCPv3 began in late June (2010). It wasn’t created by the people who made iCPv2; it was created by Charles/Ross, Rile5, Daggfin, Mike and Sam. This was the first iCP with igloos and with better commands like; !ai, !af ,etc. At first, it was only a forum, when they were still creating it. It was available in early July 2010. Tons of people joined it. It was a success! This iCP had better organized staff and gained over 100,000 people! But then got a C&D that was supposed to be from Disney but it was from “The Crocodiles”. It was shut down in October 2010.
iCPv6
iCPv6 was an iCP created by Red Octane/Red Sn0w and Syko in late January. This iCP was the first iCP that had SWFs and Moods; it was also one of the first iCPs that had Custom Rooms. The main rival of this iCP was iCPPS (the original) it shut down because of the loss of users because of iCPPS.
OpenCP
OpenCP was created by Flappi282/ZKid. Many users at first thought it was a trick. But, no, it wasn’t. It is where you make your own iCP and put it on the server. Some stole IPs from some, and others even made nothing! The servers were online 24/7. The most servers they had on at once was 36. It didn’t gain very much users, because still some people thought it was a trap. It suffered some flaws but not much. It isn’t online anymore, and is most likely shut down. Someone banned the host and the clients won’t work.
iCPPS
iCPPS was created when Penguin Safari was created, it was created by Stanley, Syko, and Alex. The servers would swap; this means when one server was online; the staff didn’t need to be online. This made it easier for friends to connect to each other often. Then Penguin Safari shut down and iCPPS was the only CPPS online at that time. iCPPS gained over 9,000 users. It ended of a C&D from Disney. This was the last iCP
End of iCP era, begining of CPPS era.
xCPPS
Towards the end of iCPPS, xCPPS was made, it was owned by the same staff of iCPPS. A month after it was made, it got a down time for 9 weeks, passing this time it got a new owner, CheekyJay. Then it eventually got back online. It is just like iCPPS, but with better commands and a web client! Now it’s offline.
Club Penguin V
When CPV started, many thought the”V” meant “Virus”. And Norton said it was a virus, but Norton always says that to every file you download. CPV gained a lot of users-especially after beta testing! It got an online client. . But the VPS server they had wasn’t online 24/7. It shut down of a C&D by Disney. Now it’s back online and it’s more secure than before. This was the first CPPS that needed account activation
HypeCP
HypeCP was made in February 2011. It’s suffered from many flaws. People are abusing commands and the server crashed a lot, and also why it shut down.
CP-Pro
CP-Pro was made by iFlexs and Mushroom. CP-Pro isn’t online 24/7, its probably online 1/7….iFlexs even had enough money to buy a domain! Disney might take it down, but who knows? CP-Pro had a playlist so you could listen to the songs when playing the game.
Atlantic Penguin
When xCPPS had come offline, CheekyJay decided to make a new CPPS and was this one, Atlantic Penguin also known as AP. This CPPS reached to 100,000+ users and because of that it got very laggy, too much people stopped playing it because of that. Because of their weak database they got hacked as some people can remember and finally, it got sued by Disney. Good beginning, bad ending.
Penguin Safari
Penguin Safari was a really nice and successful CPPS that was created on the first of January in the year of 2011. It did not grow as much users as iCPv2 and iCPv3. It was created by Flappi282//2Kid. Penguin Safari was shut down later on from C&D from Disney.
Private CP
Private CP was made February 2011. It was the 2nd CPPS to have custom items, but the 1st to have custom rooms. Private CP had a forum,

iPenguin
iPenguin was very popular at the start, but towards the end it lost lots of users. It had lots of parties and custom items and even custom rooms! They had staff problems and fights a lot. One of the moderators quit CPPSs forever. It then ended because of a C&D from Disney.
xCPPS
Towards the end of iPenguin, xCPPS was made. A month after it was made, it got a down time for 9 weeks. Then it eventually got back online. It is just like iCPPS, but with better commands and a web client! xCPPS is now gone.
